Overview
The giant form produces leaves as wide as a finger and long enough to run half the surface of a two-meter tank. It exists for large aquaria, where its scale finally looks proportionate and its runners have somewhere to go.

Aquascaping use
Reserve it for tanks from 300 liters up, ideally with big cichlids, silver dollars, or other fish that destroy lesser plants but respect this one. The surface-trailing straps create shaded lanes below.

Planting
Anchor bases shallowly in deep substrate against strong fish; large specimens may need stones over the roots at first. Establishment is quick.

Light & CO₂
Low to moderate light penetrates its simple straps easily; no CO₂ needed even in hard water. It is among the most energy-efficient large plants available.

Substrate & fertilization
A dirty, mature substrate is its pantry. Supplement with tabs only in immaculate show tanks.
Feeding behavior: Root feeder. Nutrient demand: moderate.

Growth, trimming & propagation
Remove whole leaves at the base to reduce surface coverage; expect constant runner patrol. In small tanks maintenance becomes a losing war, which is the argument for not planting it there.
