Hi—I’m Diby, the creator of Verdant Aquarium. I began my planted tank journey about ten years ago, and I’m excited to share everything I’ve learned firsthand and by absorbing the knowledge of others in the hobby and specialists in the field. Verdant Aquarium exists to make aquarium-plant research calmer, clearer, and more useful—from a first low-tech tank to a carefully tuned aquascape.

Care information that helps you decide

Every profile leads with the details that shape a real choice: placement, light, supplemental CO₂, temperature and pH ranges, mature size, growth rate, feeding behavior, and maintenance. Fuller context and step-by-step care follow for when you want to go deeper.

Botanical credibility, practical language

Taxonomy changes, trade names drift, and aquarium conditions interact. We distinguish approximate guidance from hard limits and explain technical terms without assuming specialist knowledge.

A living library

The guide currently covers 102 researched plant profiles, each with a hand-written species account and a water-parameter reference drawn from established grower guidance. Where a reliable source is missing, we leave a value blank rather than guess—and the library keeps growing as new plants are researched and added.
