Overview
Monte Carlo is more forgiving than some tiny carpeting plants, but stable carbon and adequate light make the difference between a creeping mat and upward growth.

Aquascaping use
Use as a continuous foreground, trail it over a low stone edge, or leave intentional sand breaks to make the layout feel larger.

Planting
Divide tissue culture into small plugs and plant with tweezers at close intervals. Keep roots buried while leaving leaf clusters above the substrate.
Fine nutrient-bearing substrate preferred

Light & CO₂
Medium light and injected CO₂ support lateral growth. In lower-tech tanks it may survive but often grows taller and less densely.

Substrate & fertilization
Combine complete water-column dosing with a substrate capable of retaining nutrients. Avoid aggressive initial dosing in a new tank.
Feeding behavior: Mixed feeder. Nutrient demand: moderate.

Growth, trimming & propagation
Trim like a low hedge before lower layers become shaded. Remove loose mats and replant healthy tops where coverage is thin.
