Overview
Each leaf twists through its whole length like ribbon curled on scissors, and the plant stays conveniently under thirty centimeters. It gives smaller aquariums the Vallisneria look without the surface-sprawl problem.

Aquascaping use
The spirals are ornamental enough for midground use, unusual for a Vallisneria. Cluster it beside stone or use a row as a low, animated hedge.

Planting
Shallow planting, spaced starts, and runner infill; the routine is standard Vallisneria. Twisting is tightest in fresh, vigorous growth.
Established substrate

Light & CO₂
Medium light keeps spirals springy and stands dense. It shares the family's independence from CO₂ and comfort in hard water.

Substrate & fertilization
Modest root nutrition in an established substrate carries it. Nothing about its feeding is demanding.
Feeding behavior: Root feeder. Nutrient demand: moderate.

Growth, trimming & propagation
Manage by removing runners and whole aged leaves. Older leaves relax their curl, so regular turnover keeps the corkscrew look.
