Overview
Super Red rewrote the rules for red plants by holding deep color even in modest light without CO₂. The compact leaves and willingness to branch make it the most practical route to serious red in an everyday tank.
Size note: Stronger light and supplemental CO₂ support the deepest red color and most compact growth.

Aquascaping use
Use it in tight bushes at focal points; its short stature suits mid-sized layouts where big red Ludwigias loom. It electrifies compositions of fine green textures.

Planting
Plant cuttings in small groups and pinch early to induce the bushiness it is loved for. It roots fast in any reasonable substrate.

Light & CO₂
Red arrives even at low light, but compactness and gloss climb with intensity and CO₂. There is no green phase to wait through.

Substrate & fertilization
Feed it properly, including nitrogen; starving it for color is unnecessary with this cultivar and just slows growth. Iron supports the finish.
Feeding behavior: Water-column feeder. Nutrient demand: high.

Growth, trimming & propagation
Pinch tips frequently to multiply branches, replanting the pinched tops. Neglected stems go leggy and shed low leaves like any Ludwigia.
