Overview
Full-size Lobelia cardinalis has lined the diagonal plant streets of Dutch aquariums for generations; this mini form delivers the same lacquered, spoon-shaped leaves at a third the height. It grows deliberately and holds formation, which is exactly what pattern planting requires.

Aquascaping use
Plant it in the classic descending street: a diagonal ribbon two or three stems wide running foreground to midground. Its light underside flashes attractively when leaves flex in current.

Planting
Set stems in a tight row in nutritious substrate, spacing plants finger-width. Uniformity of depth and spacing is the whole aesthetic.

Medium light preserves the compact habit; it grows contentedly without CO₂ at its own calm pace. Shade slowly stretches and dulls it.

Feed substrate and column moderately; glossy, firm new leaves confirm the balance. It never demands much at once.
