The ‘Japan’ selection of this pennywort creeps in every direction on wiry stems, its three-lobed leaves overlapping like green sequins. It can be a carpet, a cushion over rock, or a spreading skirt around wood, with the same restless energy in each role.

Let it scramble over the boundary between substrate and hardscape, blurring lines other carpets respect. In nature scapes it adds spontaneity that manicured lawns lack.
