Overview
Water hedge stacks its slim leaves in neat opposing pairs, building fine-grained texture that reads almost pixelated in a dense stand. Kept cool, bright, and carbonated, the growing tips blush orange-red, a subtle reward that separates dialed-in tanks from merely adequate ones.
Water note: Dennerle's preferred aquarium profile is approximately 22–26°C and pH 5–7; these are target conditions, not proven tolerance limits.

Aquascaping use
Mass it in the midground where the crosshatch texture and glowing tips register at viewing distance. It complements stone-led layouts with restrained palettes.

Planting
Plant fine cuttings individually and shield them from strong flow until rooted; the threadlike stems dislodge easily. Density comes from numbers, not size.

Light & CO₂
High light plus reliable CO₂ delivers the tip color; slightly cool water suits it better than tropical warmth. In lean setups it thins quietly away.

Substrate & fertilization
Consistent full-spectrum dosing, tilted toward iron for the orange finish. It shows neglect within a week at its growth pace.
