Overview
Flamingo's color is not stress-induced red but true pink pigmentation, present even in modest conditions and luminous in good ones. It grows at a crawl and commands a matching price, which makes every healthy rosette feel earned.

Aquascaping use
Treat it as jewelry: two or three rosettes at a focal point among greens, never scattered as filler. Against dark substrate or stone the pink carries across the room.

Planting
Plant in rich, active substrate with the crown exposed, ideally in a stable, mature tank; new setups stress it. Move it as rarely as possible.

Light & CO₂
Medium light and steady CO₂ keep the pink saturated and the rosette compact. Under low energy it survives but fades toward dusty rose-grey.

Substrate & fertilization
Feed generously at the roots; this is one crypt that genuinely eats. Iron-rich dosing supports color without forcing it.
Feeding behavior: Root feeder. Nutrient demand: high.

Growth, trimming & propagation
Remove failed leaves promptly since each is a large share of a small plant. Separate runners only from robust, established mothers.
