Overview
Mini Bolbitis packs the water-fern look into a nano-scale plant, with small, finely divided fronds on a creeping rhizome. It is slower and more compact than its African cousin, and less flow-obsessed, making it the more forgiving of the two for small tanks.

Aquascaping use
Attach it to detailed hardscape in nano and midsize scapes where its fine fronds add a fern layer without bulk. It nestles well into wood crevices and shaded stone.

Glue or tie the small rhizome to hardscape with the rhizome exposed. Expect slow, deliberate filling.

Light & CO₂
Low light works; medium light with CO₂ thickens the fronds noticeably. It is less demanding about flow than B. heudelotii.

Substrate & fertilization
Consistent column dosing feeds the attached plant. Lean tanks slow its already unhurried pace further.

Prune tired fronds at the rhizome and divide sparingly. Its slowness rewards leaving it alone.
