Overview
Ulvaceus produces broad, gauzy leaves so undulate and light-green they seem barely solid, a mature specimen filling a background with rolling translucence. Like several Madagascan Aponogeton it may shed everything and rest periodically; the firm tuber holds the plant's future through the pause.

Aquascaping use
One specimen is a background centerpiece, its shimmering leaves dominating a large planted tank. Give it space, as a healthy rosette is broad as well as tall.

Planting
Rest the tuber shallowly in rich substrate with the growth point exposed; never bury it. Undivided tubers should not be cut.

Light & CO₂
Medium light drives the fullest leaves, and CO₂ pushes an already fast plant faster. It is hungrier than crispus for both light and food.

Substrate & fertilization
Heavy root feeding sustains the big leaf output; renew tabs regularly. Starvation shrinks each successive leaf.

Remove decaying leaves at the base and let a resting tuber sit undisturbed. Do not discard a firm, leafless tuber.
