Blackwater / Peat Swamp

Blackwater aquariums are defined by tannin-rich amber water, dark wood, leaf litter, and low, directional light. Planting is usually sparse and shade-tolerant because the atmosphere, root structure, and organic substrate carry much of the scene. The mood is quiet, warm, and mysterious.
